Our Story

Synonymous with the legacies of “Sherpa”, the cultural name of ethnic group living in the eastern Himalayas, Sherpa Adventure Outlet, established in 2003 A.D. strives to serve the Nepalese and its tourism market through original, authentic and highly functional extensive line of performance apparel, footwear, equipment and gears, which could technically challenge the extreme weathers in the mountains and cityscapes.

Wedged between the high wall of the Himalayas and the steamy jungles of the Indian plains, Nepal is a land of snow peaks and Sherpas, yaks and yetis, monasteries and mantras.Ever since Nepal first opened its borders to outsiders in the 1950s, this tiny mountain nation has had an irresistible mystical allure for travellers. Today, legions of adventure sports lovers are drawn to the Himalaya’s most iconic and accessible adventure sports and tours/treks, some of the world’s best, with rugged trails to Everest, the Annapurnas and beyond. Nepal, a nirvana for mountain lovers and adventure, lacked many choices for genuine products and performance apparel, equipment and footwear which would make experience of the coldest, most unforgiving topographies even at the unfathomable heights of mountains richer. Hence, in 2003, we decided to fill up this demand gap by introducing original, authentic and highly functional products, which could technically challenge the extreme weathers in the mountains. And this led to the inception of Sherpa Adventure Outlet. We started by securing exclusive distributorship of the legendary brand, The North Face, the first choice of the world's most accomplished climbers, mountaineers, extreme skiers, snowboarders, endurance runners, and explorers. Later, we expanded our brand width through the brands like “Black Diamond” and “Exped”.

We have also expanded our outlets to the most beautiful city of Nepal, Pokhara in 2013 and will be launching our new outlet in Namche Bazaar in 2015, probably being the first adventure sports apparels and gears retail outlet above 3400 meters.
